DESIGN OFFICE is an architectural and building design consultancy which aims to enhance your life by improving the building and environment in which you live, work or otherwise interact; by providing a design solution that you had not previously considered.

At launch Design Office began working initially in the restaurant / retail sectors. Over ensuing years the client base has developed into private domestic housing, with one-off designs for small multi-unit developments and a specialist knowledge of extensions. Office planning and refurbishment, and light industrial units have also served to increase the project base. Design Office is also able to offer significant experience in altering and extending listed buildings, and carrying out work within conservation areas.

All building design is carried out using the latest release of ArchiCAD building design software on powerful Apple Mac computers. ArchiCAD is a specialist 3-dimensional architectural design application, which allows the design of all new buildings and extensions as 3D virtual models to provide maximum realism to client viewing. This way of working also facilitates advanced 3D working to produce photo-realistic views, and virtual building movies both internal and external, should the project require.

Design Office Architectural Ltd carries professional indemnity insurance cover up to £1m each and every project. Cover may be increased to £2m as required. Although a claim has never been made against the Design Office PII; having such cover is mandatory for CIAT and RIBA members, and provides piece of mind to clients in the unlikely event that any problems arise due to defective design.

Mark Wilson MCIAT - Building Design Expert

Has been a full member of The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists since January 1985, and has over 33 years of construction industry experience. He has worked for various small and medium sized architects and architectural practices, building contractors, property company and property developers, and timber frame house builders. Experience is subsequently drawn from many facets of the commercial and domestic fields of architectural and building design.
